According to a statement from Uttar Pradesh, In a major breakthrough in the Rameshwaram cafe blast case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested the main conspirator after extensive raids at several locations in three states.

Muzammil Shareef was caught and jailed. conspirator after NIA teams raided 18 locations, including 12 locations in Karnataka, five in Tamil Nadu and one in Uttar Pradesh. The NIA, which took over the case on March 3, had earlier identified the main culprit, Mussavir Shazeeb Hussain, who planned the blast. It also identified another conspirator, Abdul Matheen Taha, who is also wanted by the agency in other cases. Both men are absconding.

NIA investigations revealed that Muzammil Shareef provided logistical support to two other accused who were identified in the March IED blast incident at Brookefield, Bengaluru, in the ITPL Road. Several customers and hotel employees were injured, some seriously, in the explosion, which caused extensive property damage. The homes of all three defendants were looted, as well as residences and other shops belonging to the suspects. Various digital devices and cash were seized during the search.
The agency said efforts are on to nab the accused and find out the larger conspiracy behind the blast.
